Job Summary:

The Purchasing Agent is responsible for purchasing materials, supplies and services at the appropriate quality, lowest price and within an acceptable time frame required by the company to operate efficiently by performing the following duties.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide purchasing support as required to meet the requirements of various projects and company needs.
  • Maintain updated vendor list; process open accounts with frequently used vendors.
  • Receive and review all written purchase requisitions for accuracy and delivery requirements.
  • Identify the best price/vendor for required products and materials.
  • Place orders with vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Provides uninterrupted flow of materials, supplies, and services required by the company to operate on a daily basis.
  • Reviews and approves purchasing requests received from various departments.
  • Enters purchasing information in computer and generates related reports for inventory control purposes.
  • Maintains adequate inventory levels by monitoring and replenishing as necessary.
  • Prepares and monitors quotation files to include updating with current bids and quotes as needed.
  • Assures completeness of Purchase Order.
  • Submits purchase requisitions on time to supply inventory.
  • Monitors supplier prices and maintains cost control
  • Create and track all purchase orders thru JobBoss software.
  • Monitors open purchase orders
