Compa Industries is searching for qualified candidates for a Senior Health and Safety Technician position at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in Los Alamos, NM.


Salary: $37/hr - $42/hr

Location: Onsite

Citizenship: US citizenship Required

Work Schedule: 4/10 with opportunity for overtime (not required)

Clearance: Ability to obtain a Q clearance

Per Diem: Possible but Local Candidates are preferred


Impact

The Health and Safety Technician 4 plays a critical role in supporting our health and safety professionals. You will assist with collecting samples, conducting inspections, and reviewing operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.This position requires a strong foundation in scientific principles and the ability to independently solve complex problems.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with air sampling, swipe and bulk sampling, area sampling, and real-time sampling.
  • Conduct inspections of work areas and review operations for compliance with safety protocols.
  • Analyze and manipulate data associated with potential health and safety hazards.
  • Facilitate the implementation of health and safety requirements.
  • May perform field work, laboratory work, or data management activities.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma and four to six years of related experience (OR)
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of scientific principles, including mathematics, physics, biology, chemistry, industrial hygiene, and health physics (PREFERRED).

Education and Experience Requirements

  • A high school diploma and four to six years of related experience is typically required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Associate's degree in a related field or graduation from a technical institution (PREFERRED).
