The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) is currently seeking a Sr. Associate Systems Engineer who will report to the Sr. Manger of Technology Operations and work independently as part of a collaborative team. This team is responsible for supporting the activities necessary for managing the Production and Development environments for MSRB mission critical systems.


This position will be responsible for

  • Supporting the production monitoring and issue resolution activities necessary for ensuring continuous availability of MSRB mission critical systems, 24/7; rotating on call support is required.
  • Supporting existing and new job automation activities for production processes.
  • Supporting the system and application patching processes.
  • Working across the enterprise, e.g. Product Operations, Program Management, Information Security, Technology Infrastructure, Systems Development, etc., to resolve issues uncovered in MSRB mission critical systems.
  • Supporting the Change Control Board (CCB) process for managing the changes recommended for introduction into Production.
  • Performing application deployments into the various system environments managed by Technology Operations
  • Supporting the identification of operational requirements during the technology delivery process.
  • Supporting the execution of other technology operational processes, e.g. Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery exercises, enterprise backup processes, general helpdesk support, etc.


Qualified applicants will have their bachelor s degree in a technology major, or two years equivalent work experience in a technology operations, technology delivery, technology infrastructure support, or desktop support environment. Experience with scripting to automate manual processes is preferred. Microsoft Windows and an understanding of networking concepts is required. AWS experience is preferred. In addition, qualified applicants will have the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization, allowing for the ability to present ideas and provide informational status updates to both technical and non-technical groups. The selected applicant will be expected to have a high level of initiative, requiring minimal supervision. They must be detail-oriented and demonstrate consistent follow-through on assigned tasks. Knowledge of the financial services industry and municipal securities market is preferred.
