Description

The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient operations of a warehouse. This position involves assisting in various tasks related to receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing goods and products within the warehouse environment. The Warehouse Specialist works under the supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor and collaborates with other team members to ensure the timely and accurate completion of tasks.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Receiving and inspecting goods: Assist in unloading incoming shipments, verifying their quantity and quality, and comparing them to purchase orders or invoices. Report any discrepancies or damages to the appropriate personnel.
  • Stocking and organizing: Help in storing goods in designated areas within the warehouse, ensuring proper labeling, and maintaining an organized inventory system. This includes arranging products on shelves, racks, or bins according to established guidelines.
  • Order picking and packing: Collaborate with the warehouse team to fulfill customer orders. Retrieve items from their designated locations based on order lists, and pack them securely for shipment while ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Inventory control: Assist in conducting regular stock counts, cycle counts, or annual inventories to ensure accurate inventory levels. Update inventory records and report any stock shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Loading and unloading: Aid in the loading and unloading of trucks or vehicles, using appropriate equipment and following safety guidelines. Help to secure items and ensure proper handling to prevent damages.
  • General maintenance: Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the warehouse. This includes sweeping, mopping, and removing any debris or obstacles that may pose a safety hazard. Report any maintenance or safety concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Adherence to safety protocols: Follow all safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses immediately.
  • Equipment operation: Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks under the supervision and with appropriate training. Ensure the equipment is used safely and report any malfunctions or damages.
  • Collaboration and teamwork: Communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient operations. Assist colleagues when needed and actively contribute to a positive work environment.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment (preferred)
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory management
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks for extended periods
  • Familiarity with warehouse equipment and tools (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness to follow safety guidelines and procedures
