Duties include delivering PRIDE pre-service training, facilitating ongoing in-service training, organizing support groups, and conducting URM-specific training sessions for prospective foster parents. Additionally, the specialist will oversee recruitment efforts and execute events aimed at fostering a supportive environment for URM foster parents.Essential Functions Provide PRIDE pre-service training to all prospective foster parents Provide ongoing in-service training to all foster parents Conduct regular foster parent support groups. Provide training resources for foster parents Provide URM training to prospective foster parents Create and execute events geared towards supporting foster parents ie: Foster Parent Month, Harvest Festival, Winter Holiday Gathering. Conduct regular community outreach to identify prospective foster parents within the 50-mile radius of Fairfax office. Process all information through established professional internal and external channels of communications. Create relationships with community partners to host regularly scheduled recruitment events. Engage social media and creative outlets to recruit foster parents. Host regularly scheduled orientation for prospective foster parents. Coordinate with the RTL Supervisor and other staff personnel to ensure that items needed for recruitment activities are present.Additional Responsibilities Complete SAFE (Structured Analysis Family Evaluation) home study assessments for prospective families. Manage a home study caseload. Provide support to assigned families throughout the foster parent licensing and renewal process. Manage a caseload of foster parents who need additional support. Conduct monthly and quarterly home visits. Complete and submit reports as required. Attend staffing, hearing, and other meetings to address/ support any needs of the foster family. Support and Coordinate youth placements as needed. Support with ensuring ongoing compliance with clearances, training, and licensing documents for all licensed families in the workers case load.
