Summary Statement: This position requires employees to be onsite full-time, Monday through Friday for their scheduled work hours. Under general supervision, this position provides technical and life cycle operational support of computer systems and software. The incumbent applies general knowledge and exercises discretion and independent judgment to solve a range of operational non-routine problems of limited scope and complexity. Responsibilities include maintaining systems functionality, availability, security and performance. Assists in the implementation of programs or projects through operational and technical support. Maintains configuration standards and adheres to IT best practices and corporate and security policy. Due to the nature of this position, and the requirement for extended coverage, this position may be required to work hours outside of a regular schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

1.

Responds to Helpdesk requests, escalations, and change requests requiring hardware and software troubleshooting, maintenance and support. Serves as an escalation point for Service Desk operations.

a.

Installs, configures, deploys and maintains endpoint systems; provides operational and technical support to ensure systems functionality, security and performance.

b.

Administers multiple classified and unclassified systems across diverse networks.

2.

Manages software life cycles to include the evaluation, configuration, security, implementation and production support.

a.

Ensures the security configuration is in compliance with IDA, DOD, NSA, DISA, US Cyber Command and DSS directives and guidelines. Provides reports, through the use of Retina and Security Content Automation Protocol Validation Program scans on the security posture of the software. Maintains Security Technical Implementation Guide checklists on software installations across multiple operating environments.

b.

Provides and maintains documentation to include Standard Operating Procedures, troubleshooting guides and training materials.

c.

Automates the deployment of software using the Microsoft Deployment Tool Kit and Microsoft Center Configuration Manager.

3.

Assists in the implementation of new technology. Partners with the engineering staff performing operational tests and compatibility checks, then assists with the products deployment into full production.

4.

Develops technical proficiency in IT technologies; keeps abreast of industry trends.

5.

Communicates all computer network, system and service problems and outages immediately to the Computer Operations Team Supervisor and/or EITO Manager.

6.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field with one-year minimum experience in Information Technology OR high school diploma with three years minimum experience in Information Technology.

Possess fundamental knowledge and principles in supporting computer systems and software, preferably the Microsoft suite of enterprise software.

Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, Windows Deployment Server, PXE, Patch Management, application life cycle support, McAfee Enterprise Policy Orchestrator, McAfee endpoint products, HBSS, and scripting languages a plus.

Must be organized, self-motivated and able to work with general supervision.

Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form and with all levels of employees; possess good interpersonal skills.

Must be willing to work hours outside of a regular schedule.

US citizenship is required.

Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearances.

This position requires that you have the ability to obtain and maintain the current DOD 8140 and/or 8570 certification or obtain relevant education substitution within 6 months of employment.
