Site Quality Specialist


Job Details

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Site Quality Specialist for a position located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The Site Quality Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of a quality program on projects to confirm projects are constructed, fabricated, examined, tested, and documented in accordance with the project specifications, governing codes of construction and contract documents.

The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have at least 7 years of related work experience managing the implementation of a quality program.


Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.


Site Quality Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and provide guidance to the scope, complexity and logistics of work related to quality.
  • Understand and utilize project specifications to proactively support the successful fabrication/installation/construction of all project elements and coordinate with construction and engineering to resolve project issues.
  • Effectively communicate with project personnel to validate specifications and code inspections are understood and met.
  • Coordinate / lead in preconstruction / premobilization meetings to communicate contractual requirements to subcontractors to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
  • Proactively evaluate the implementation of the quality program (e.g. document management, material management, special processes, etc.) and when required, bring the attention of noncompliant processes to the project team.
  • Inspect fabricated/installed/constructed elements to confirm they are in compliance with project specifications and drawings and results are documented as required.
  • Proactively evaluate installation/construction activities and participate in project schedule look-ahead meetings to identify and discuss any upcoming complexities with the project team.
  • Evaluate quality verification documents to confirm all attributes are addressed as they are issued and confirm compliance with the specifications and drawings.
  • Generate accurate inspection reports daily. Update inspection databases to accurately track inspection status, results, and metrics.
  • Participate in the walk-down and turnover process and when required, perform and document acceptance inspections.
  • Coordinate / lead quality meetings with client and subcontractors, as required.
  • Recommend enhancements and changes to the Quality Management System.
  • Confirm conditions adverse to quality (nonconformance) are identified, documented, dispositioned, and tracked through acceptance and closure.
  • Develop and execute Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs) with collaboration from the project team and confirm / document implementation.
  • Review and confirm compliance of applicable materials, procedures, subcontractor quality submittals, and ITPs.
  • Proactively communicate quality opportunities or concerns to the project team.
  • Understand and interpret discipline-specific codes, specifications, and client requirements.
  • Track project quality metrics.
  • Review and confirm the project turnover deliverables are populated and correspond to project activities.
  • Perform quality orientation on a project site, as needed.
  • Comply with all Safety & Health requirements and participate in the Task Safety Observations (TSO's) to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Coaching / training / mentoring field staff, if needed, related to quality and quality processes
  • Typical Disciplines of Construction for the Role Related to Quality Monitoring and Metrics Includes:
  • Excavations, Earthwork / Grading / Aggregates, Drainage, Foundations / Structures / Duct Packages (PCC), Pavement (PCC / HMA / WMA), Structural Steel (Erection / Retrofit), Electrical (Low / Medium / High Voltages), Building Construction, Mechanical, and Plumbing.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements of the Site Quality Specialist:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 7-12 years related work experience managing the implementation of a quality program.
  • Must be detail-oriented.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer and communications skills.
