We are seeking an experienced full-time CAD Technician with advanced SolidWorks 3D modeling proficiency and a background of 3 + years in Mechanical Drafting/ Design or a 2-year Associate's degree in drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Technical Writing.

The hourly pay range is $25.00 - $29.00/per hour (DOE)

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:

The computer-aided design CAD Technician involves the creation of detailed 3D models for pump components like impellers and volutes to support pump design, assembly drawings, and part procurement. The responsibilities include reviewing project instructions, understanding customer specifications, and proposing solutions such as part redesign or material substitution. Additionally, the job entails drafting detailed drawings for machine shop fabrication, developing sheet metal parts, creating 3D assemblies to ensure interference-free assembly, and managing processes such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), dimensional prints, and exploded view drawings.

What you'll do:

  • Generate 3D models of pump components (impellers, volutes, etc.) for pump design, assembly drawings, and part procurement.
  • Develop official assembly and component drawings, as well as related instructions, based on the created 3D models.
  • Review project instructions to understand customer specifications, procedures, and technical challenges, proposing solutions like part redesign or material substitution.
  • Draft detailed drawings to facilitate parts fabrication by machine shops or external suppliers.
  • Create 3D assemblies and drawings to ensure interference-free assembly.
  • Manage processes such as Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), dimensional prints, and exploded view drawings.


What we're looking for:

  • Proficient to expert-level SolidWorks 3D modeling skills
  • Mechanical Drafting/Design experience (3+ years) and/or 2-year Associates in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Technical Writing


You come with highly desirable skills:

  • SolidWorks training and certifications
  • SolidWorks PDM Administrator
  • SolidWorks Composer experience
  • Experience in the Manufacturing industry
  • Knowledge of Centrifugal Pumps
