Ability to work independently, read blueprints, and possess good troubleshooting skills to solve problems.3. Hold a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.4. Ability to lift and pull cabling up to 50 Lbs.5. Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.6. Ability to adapt and learn new technologies.7. Technician experience preferred.PERFORMANCERESPONSIBILITIES:* * Work closely with the Technology Department and District Operations Department.* * Pull and terminate copper cable and/or fiber optic cabling; installation of surface-mounted cable management, sleeves, data racks, security cameras, as well as a variety of wireless devices.* * Installation and repair of low voltage category cabling, fiber optic, communications cabling, communication equipment, and other various low voltage related systems such as Category 3, Category 5, Enhanced Category 5, Category 6, and Fiber Optic Structured Cable Distribution Systems.* * Verbally answer technical questions over the telephone.* * Perform upgrades and additions to cabling infrastructure systems to increase functionality and usability.* * Estimating the amount of required cabling, preparing, and installing cabling for projects in buildings.* *Maintain good public relations with building staff through prompt services, personal tact, and courtesy, and assistance with problems.* *Test cable/troubleshoot and document networking issues* *Follow through on repairs/installation of incoming cabling and keep appropriate records on each item.* *Install cable pathway systems (cable trays, cable racks, J-hooks or D-rings)* Install, terminate, test, label and document horizontal, backbone and other cables* Willingness to work days or nights as required* Perform other related duties as assigned.* Physically able to perform all job duties.TERMS OFEMPLOYMENT: 12 Months - DFSE Salary ScheduleEVALUATION: Annually* indicates essential functions of the jobSalary: $20 - $30 per hour
