Position: General Ledger Specialist

Location: Fairfax, VA/Remote

Position Description:

DZYNE has an immediate need for a talented General Ledger Specialist who will join our industry leading team at our location in Fairfax, VA. Candidate must be agreeable to work in the office about 10 hours a week. This position oversees DZYNE Technologies' financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. This role will perform daily accounting task such as approve Accounts Payable vouchers, process semi-monthly payroll, maintain Fixed Assets, maintain the Prepaid Expense account, and record receipts and adjustments.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

* Maintains records of financial tractions by establishing new accounts as needed; Posting AP, and Payroll transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.

* Responsible for all account financial transactions by using established chart of accounts; using defined bookkeeping policies and procedures; Tracking Invoices and payments.

* Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions

* Process semi-monthly payroll and ensure all payroll transactions processed efficiently by following state regulations, and company policies and procedures.

* Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company

* Maintain Fixed Assets and Prepaid Expense Schedule

* Record cash receipts on a daily basis.

* Reconcile company credit cards

* Maintains historical records by filing documents such as invoices, packing slips, payment receipts

* Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, advising management on needed actions

* Analyzes and responds to accounting questions in accordance with GAAP generally accepted accounting principles

* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Desired skills:

* Microsoft Dynamics Navision (version 2016 and up) experience preferred

* Following standards, Analyzing Information

* Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and a positive and eager to learn attitude

* Reporting Research Results, Data Entry Skills

* Expert knowledge of the entire Microsoft Office Professional Suite to include Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

* Prior payroll experience

* Proficient with Accounting Software/General Ledger Software programs

* Attention to Detail, Organized

* Ability to keep employee data confidential

* Must have a positive attitude, be committed to excellence and customer service

* Team-player able to organize multiple tasks of varying priorities and meet critical deadlines

* Must be self-motivated and willing to independently study concepts and policies with the goal of shortening the learning curve

* Able to work extended hours and travel as required

Minimum Qualifications:

* Knowledge of third-party payroll processor such as Paycor, Paychex, ADP

* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

* Minimum of 5+ years of industry experience as an accountant

* Experience in working in the government contracting industry

* Three (3) days in the office and two (2) days remote

* Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

* Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine

* Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.

* May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.

Pay Range: $62,000 - $85,000 per year
