About the Position

  • Responsible for managing all Club operations in alignment with the strategic direction set by the 9-member Board of Governors, By-laws, and Rules & Regulations
  • Ensures operations balance Member value expectations with fiscal responsibility
  • Serves as a leader and custodian of the Club's culture and traditions
  • Fosters a service culture that promotes excellent programming, services, and amenities
  • Prepares annual operating, cash, and capital budgets and forecasts
  • Manages, controls, and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Coordinates and executes all outside ice contracts
  • Develops and manages GSC's ice schedule for all programs, including hockey, figure skating, tournaments, and special events
  • Assists in the development of policies, programs, and events in collaboration with committee chairs
  • Provides operational and administrative support for policy and program implementation
  • Demonstrates professional and outgoing demeanor, serving as a role model for all employees
  • Fosters a collegial working environment that encourages teamwork, achievement, and excellence
  • Recruits, develops, and retains top talent passionate about their respective sports
  • Cultivates a club culture of competition, growth, and fun


About the Ideal Candidate

  • Excellent leader, team builder, communicator, delegator, and motivator
  • Possesses energy, enthusiasm, and ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Strong work ethic, encourages others to act with a reasonable sense of urgency
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible club or ice rink management experience
  • Experience leading up to a General Manager or similar position
  • Demonstrates understanding and appreciation for hockey and figure skating
  • Experience with ice rink operations is beneficial but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively "manage up" to the Board and discern appropriate communication
  • College graduate with a bachelor's degree in business administration, Hospitality Management, or equivalent
  • Professional certifications such as CCM, CCE, or similar achievements are highly desired
