MAIN FUNCTION:

This position is a first-line focal point and provides the necessary overview and planning to maintain a cohesive maintenance organization providing technical services for plant facilities and equipment. This position requires rotating shifts as projects require.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the maintenance department to provide support to the manufacturing operations.
  • Troubleshoot and oversee diagnostics and repair of controls and automation.
  • Coordinate and oversee installation of new industrial equipment and required electrical requirements.
  • Extensive communication between supervisors, and lead personnel on the floor.
  • Supervise outside contractors performing maintenance on plant processes and systems.
  • Supervise projects to ensure that all equipment and facility resources are continuously upgraded and available for use.
  • Oversee safe work practices of all mechanics and contracted employees
  • Maintain an environment with obvious strong and solid commitment to safely and good housekeeping.
  • Ensure that the skill levels of mechanics and technicians are adequate and that skill sets for new or evolving technologies are acquired.
  • Coordinate execution of all work orders and evaluation of the finished work.
  • Supervised custodial services
  • Develop and Sustain preventative maintenance system for the operation.
  • Identify and promote Lean initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

  • Preferred Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical Engineering, or related work experience.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • Proven history of team development
  • Proven history of Lean Manufacturing\working knowledge of controls and automation
  • Tool & Die experience preferred
  • Sheet metal mechanical experience
  • Experience in industrial mechanical and industrial electrical troubleshooting and strong problem solving abilities. Knowledge of in troubleshooting PLC s.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-based and fast-based environment, set priorities to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects, and make decisions under pressure.
  • Must be organized, professional, have the ability to multitask, proficiency in MS Office Products, and posses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
