FGS Global (FGS), a leading strategic communications and government relations firm, is seeking a sharp and energetic junior communications professional to join the firms Strategic Communications Health practice. This is a great position for a proactive self-starter interested in communications and marketing and supporting a fast-paced and growing health practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor and/or compile daily press clips for multiple clients
- Assist client teams in prep for meetings/pitches
- Basic writing and research tasks (including emails, meeting agendas, messaging documents, press materials, client documents, owned media content, etc.)
- Build and maintain press lists
- Pitch wide variety of media contacts
- Prepare briefing documents, talking points, etc.
- Administrative support for senior staff, including:
- Managing all aspects of schedule
- Preparing and submitting expense reports
- Coordinating and booking travel
- Filtering internal and external requests
- Proactively identifying and addressing any immediate concerns or obstacles to ensure workflow moves smoothly
- Managing sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Responding to requests outside of regular business hours as needed
ATTRIBUTES
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 1-2 years of relevant internship experience
- Interest in health industry
- Previous experience in communications field, particularly media
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
- Strong writing and research skills
- Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with social media platforms
- Strong time management and organizational skills and the ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects at once with little direction
- Flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done; strong propensity to think multiple steps ahead and anticipate needs, challenges, and questions.
