Job Description:

The purpose of this position is to support the Chair of the Provider Recruitment Steering Committee in the planning and execution of the provider recruitment strategy for the affiliate of NYC Health + Hospitals.

General tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic operations: Develop and oversee strategies and project plans to implement the Steering Committee s plan.
  • Facility Leadership Collaboration: Partner with high need specialty service line chiefs to understand staffing needs/vacancies and priorities, and establish and implement recruitment goals
  • Affiliate Collaboration: Facilitate communication between local facility affiliate teams and affiliate recruitment teams including developing systems to capture provider vacancy prioritization, planning and tracking.
  • Brand Management support: Work with NYC Health + Hospitals Marketing and Communications and the affiliates to ensure NYC Health + Hospitals brand and mission promotion and support co-branding initiatives
  • Marketing: Develop and implement targeted physician recruitment campaigns to reach potential candidates
  • Funding & Financial Management: Ensure the availability of adequate funds for activities and expenses related to recruiting providers; track expenses, adherence to budget, and ensure invoices are paid on time
  • Supervision: Manage and provide oversight to affiliate provider recruitment project manager.
  • Liaison to Finance, Subspecialties and Affiliates: Centralize, distill and track information to inform strategy and implementation
  • Stakeholder Management: Manage relationships and reporting to Steering Committee and Executive-level stakeholders.
  • Develop and oversee the affiliate provider ambassador program including ensuring successful implementation and ongoing success
  • Support networking and relationship management with H+H residents
  • Coordinate and support system-wide efforts to attract underrepresented minorities and act as liaison for provider recruitment pipeline with MOSAIC program
  • Ensure provider recruitment website is up to date and provide steering committee chair with reports on website performance and other relevant metrics
  • Performs other duties as needed


Minimum Qualifications:

1. Graduation from an approved School of Medicine and completion of an approved residency and Board eligible; and,

2. N.Y. State license; and,

3. Five years of full-time paid experience in a responsible medical and clinical administrative and/or managerial capacity; or,

4. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, Health Care Planning, Public Health, Administrative Medicine, Business Administration, Public Administration or approved related program; and,

5. Eight years of progressively responsible experience in health and medical services administration, of which at least four years must have been in a managerial or administrative capacity.

Department Preferences

  • Society of Human Resource Management certified
  • At least 3 years of experience working in healthcare recruitment
  • Knowledge of recruitment landscape for 1+ specialty areas: Behavioral Health, Anesthesia, Primary Care, Women s Health/OBGYN
  • Experience screening and tracking applicants
  • Experience developing and managing marketing recruitment campaigns, and knowledge of recruitment platforms
