Job Summary:

As the sole member of our Procurement Department, the Procurement Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing all procurement activity and negotiating the best terms to reduce procurement expenses, while maintaining the right amount of purchased and raw materials. Our standards and quality must always be maintained.



Duties/Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy: Develop and implement a procurement strategy aligned with the company's goals and objectives, with a strong emphasis on reducing expenses without compromising quality.


Purchase Order Management: Efficiently processes purchase orders to acquire goods and services, ensuring timely delivery and cost-effectiveness.


Supply Chain Optimization: Manage the flow of goods to ensure optimal production and sales while minimizing excess inventory.


Vendor Relations: Be the point of contact for negotiating contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors and suppliers, maintaining strong relationships.


Supplier Sourcing: Identify potential suppliers based on project requirements and continuously seek new vendors to diversify our supplier base.


Price Monitoring: Monitor and report on price fluctuations of goods, vendor pricing, and commodities, providing regular updates to relevant departments.


Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analyses and set benchmarks for improvement in procurement processes.


Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with key stakeholders for new product development, ensuring alignment with company and customer expectations.


Hands-on Involvement: Be actively involved in product/project development in a production/testing environment when needed.


Reporting: Generate weekly and monthly reports on procurement activities, highlighting key insights and opportunities for improvement.




Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven work experience as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, or Head of Procurement in the manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as dexterity in reading the market

Strong negotiation skills and knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques

Experience with import negotiations and networking

Experience using supplier or third-party management software.

Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers.

Experience collecting and analyzing data

Excellent organizational and written communication skills

Strong leadership capabilities

Some travel potentially overseas

Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or similar software



Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.
