Shipman & Goodwin LLP is seeking a Business Professional Recruiter, resident in our Hartford, Connecticut office. The Business Professional Recruiter will lead the development and implementation of strategic talent acquisition for non-attorney positions, aligned with firm goals. In this role the Business Professional Recruiter will proactively evaluate the staff recruiting function, strategies, and procedures, to find opportunities for improvement and will explore and implement practices allowing the firm to source, attract and retain top talent. In addition, this position will establish and implement skill-based training programs for administrative personnel while building strong relationships throughout the Firm and delivering results in a rapidly and constantly evolving environment. The successful candidate will manage all staff recruiting processes, including writing position descriptions, job postings, management of the posting process, review of all applications, screening of candidates, scheduling interviews, manage the offer process and prepare all new hire documentation. In addition, the Business Professional Recruiter manage and oversee the onboarding, orientation, and training processes for all staff hires. This is an on-site, hybrid position, with the successful applicant working in our Harford office a minimum of 3 days per week.


A bachelor s degree is required with a minimum of 10 years experience in talent acquisition and 5 years of experience in training and development. Law firm experience is strongly preferred. The successful candidate must be a self-starter with strong attention to detail and possess strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage multiple and rapidly changing priorities, exhibit superior judgment and interpersonal skills.
