Job Details

This position is responsible for donor support and fundraising activities of the Academy's Foundation's Giving is Great Medicine capital campaign. This position will support efforts to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward prospective and current donors in the state. Working closely with physician leaders in their respective communities, this position will also schedule and make visits to those communities for campaign gifts.


Our key candidate will be eager to develop new programs to draw more of our members into an ongoing relationship with the Alliance/Foundation and work on maintaining current donors.

The Manager of Development and Donor Support will be focused on donations of up to $25K and support senior leaders in securing larger gifts.


This role includes overseeing GHFA s donor database, direct and email solicitation strategies and social media campaigns while implementing new fundraising initiatives and programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain fundraising database, track donors, and provide ongoing reports to Development Team and Board of Trustees at quarterly board meetings.
  • Meet with and cultivate potential donors, current donors, and Board Members to develop new relationships and strengthen existing relationships.
  • Support and empower members of the Board and other leaders to maximize their fundraising potential through training, prospect research, and developing needed tools.
  • Collaborate with the Foundation Team on new fundraising programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure timely and accurate gift acknowledgement through letters, handwritten cards, and thank you calls.

  • ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

    A demonstrated record of success in project management; superb organizational skills and diligent attention to detail, with the ability to plan, track and complete long-range project deadlines and goals.

    Exceptional accuracy, grammar and proofreading skills; strong organizational and office management skills; demonstrated high standards of ethics and integrity.

    Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral.

    • Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work well with staff at all levels; ability to work both independently and within a team environment (departmental and cross-departmental).
    • Ability to manage diverse, simultaneous tasks with competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high impact office environment.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Fundraising database knowledge/experience preferred.
    • Complete projects by the assigned deadline.

    Works closely with the Senior Staff to integrate fundraising strategies with broader organizational programs.

    Identifies and successfully builds relationships with community and business leaders, with the objective of expanding the donor base.

    Plans and implements multiple direct mail appeals annually, emphasizing customization and creativity.

    Monitors budgets, progress, deadlines, goals, and objectives related to department and responsibilities, ensuring the overall campaign goal is met.

    Provides excellent customer service, anticipating and exceeding donor needs.

    Designs campaign materials for distribution to patrons and donor prospects in collaboration with the Foundation team.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

    • Bachelor s degree
    • Minimum three years of fundraising experience and/or project management.

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

    • Position is remote, although onboarding and frequent contact/trips to our office in Tucker, GA will be required.
    • Some travel throughout the state will be required. (20 percent)
    • Some weekend work will be required (attending board meetings and conferences)
