POSITION TITLE: Graphics and Print Designer - Offline CAD & Graphics

REPORTS TO: Associate Design Director

SUPERVISES: Assistant Designer

POSITION SUMMARY:

Work within the CAD/Graphics team to implement Offline pattern/graphics direction in all aspects of the design process- from initial concept stage and presentation, to development and execution of the final product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Design/ Concept teams to establish pattern/color/trend direction and interpret into artwork appropriate for brand
  • Oversee all aspects of presentation from boards to articulation of ideas and seasonal direction
  • Make frequent presentations to design/merch and production teams
  • Manage and oversee Brand DNA of all prints/graphics
  • Push innovation in print and graphics while maintaining Offline brand DNA
  • Research and create new trends in graphic design and production techniques
  • Work with Director to provide brand right print and graphic trends and direction to Assistant Designer
  • Create graphic design concepts and board presentations for each season
  • Organize all graphics by season and category and keep up to date linesheets
  • Participate in collaborative meetings, suggesting appropriate prints and graphics when needed
  • Manage and provide art direction for direct reports with graphic scale, concept and placement
  • Oversee graphic strike off execution/work with Production and Design teams to review all samples
  • Protect brand handwriting and DNA across all pattern and graphics
  • Create and color patterns, knits, seamless layouts, and textures
  • Create technical breakdown of all pattern, fabric and graphic layouts for design as communication tool for development
  • Provide production ready artwork, in both print and electronic format, for internal and external partners
  • Collaborate with Design to approve strike offs and fabric developments
  • Collaborate with Design on the visualization, presentation, and communication of pattern concepts through CAD artwork
  • Delivering newness and Innovation is key; elevate the brand aesthetic by delivering on trend fashion graphics
  • Organize and own seasonal assortment of graphics for chain/web/international needs
  • Manage and balance workload. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple seasons at once
  • In person/in-office collaboration is required, three to five days of the week, dictated by business needs. Such collaboration includes work centralized around product development, milestone meetings, fittings, and approvals


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Design or Textile Design (or equivalent experience in CAD Design)
  • At least 5 years of related print or graphic experience- bonus for background in activewear/intimates textile development
  • Knowledge of graphic development and execution/production
  • Experience with CAD systems (Kaledo)
  • Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator & PhotoShop required
  • Knowledge of repeat patterns, textile printing, yarn dye reproduction
  • Strong sense of color for the creation of color ways and the ability to match colors accurately
  • Ability to act as liaison between many departments: excellent communication and analytic skills
