Elevate Claims Solutions is seeking a Large Loss adjuster for property claims, appraisals, umpire services and claims consulting in the Virginia/DC market. This position will handle regional claims, where the claims have been identified to have high value repair amounts or where specialized knowledge or experience is necessary.

Prioritize policyholders during their time loss through demonstrated empathy and understanding.
Experience and ability to work with Public Adjusters, opposing Appraisers, and Umpires to identify and quantify extend of damage and reach final settlements on contested claims, including claims in which the Appraisal Clause has been invoked.
Comfort and familiarity with the scope of investigation, decision making authority, and limits of consideration detailed in the appraisal process.
Outstanding work ethic. This is not a 9-5 position and you will be called upon to maintain a flexible schedule to help meet the needs of insureds and carriers.
Clear, consistent, and timely communication. We, and our carriers, want and need strong lines of communication.
You must be open to receiving and providing feedback.
The ability to effectively and independently manage workload while exercising good judgement.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Understanding of residential and commercial construction, general practices, and building code requirements.
Ability to interact and work with various personalities, often in contentious situations, and bring files to resolution.
Strong technological skills with the ability to work within various claims management systems.
Minimum of ten years of residential and commercial property adjusting and construction experience.
Certifications desired: CPUA; CPIA; HAAG; IICRC; NFIP; CPCU; AIC; PTC
Carrier experience is desired.
Liability experience.
Current, active Xactimate license and experience writing both residential and commercial damage estimates in Xactimate.
Ability to pass a background screen.
Current, active license where required.
Equipment and ability to access roofs.
