The Prep Cook is responsible for preparing foods to be later cooked by the Chefs and Cooks. They will use sharp knives and various other kitchen equipment in order to slice meat, chop vegetables, prepare cold salads, garnishes and side dishes.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
* Chop vegetables and fruits, prepare salads, sandwiches and sides dishes.
* Prepares assigned food items according to standard recipes to ensure consistency and quality of product.
* Apportions food for serving.
* Prepares food, maintains kitchen, and stores food in accordance with policies, procedures, and all applicable health and sanitation codes.
* Sets up, serves and cleans up assigned food production stations.
* Transport food and supplies to work stations as needed.
* Complete prep work for next shift.
* Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
* Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
* Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
* Receive, rotate and store all food stock.
* Work assigned station in the kitchen.
* Assist other kitchen personnel as needed.
* May be responsible for cashier responsibilities, if assigned to a mobile/QSR outlet.
**LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS OR REGISTRATIONS:** Must be able to obtain and maintain and Iowa Gaming License.
