The Accounting Assistant position supports the local operations Area Management, Accounting Manager and Project Accountants. This position follows practices and procedures in accordance with HDR policies, HDR best practice processes, HDR accounting principles and federal government compliance standards. Primary Responsibilities In the role of part-time Accounting Assistant, we'll count on you to: Perform accounting functions such as accounts payables, project set up, and other related accounting functions to support our Project Accountants and Project Managers, Including: Processing vendor invoices to the corporate finance and accounting group Review and assist in processing Accounts Payable transactions for sub consultants Manage corporate credit card transactions Research and communicate release of subconsultant payments to corporate finance & accounting group Monitor timesheet labor adjustments & Accounts Payable/Expense report adjustments Review and answer questions as needed for employee expense reports relative to HDR travel & business expense policy & procedures Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment Do routine work and follow detailed instructions Involve the use of computers to maintain financial records and accounting reports Assist multiple project accountants and other staff daily Perform other duties as needed Qualifications Required Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent Proficiency with MS Office including Word and Outlook Excellent verbal and written communication including grammar, punctuation, proofreading, spelling and telephone skills Flexibility and ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and collaborate with various managers in a fast-paced environment Must be self-motivated, well-organized, detail-oriented and able to work well independently and as part of a team Ability to properly handle sensitive and confidential information and work with a broad range of individuals throughout HDR An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting Minimum 1 year accounting experience preferred Why HDR At HDR, we know work isn't only about who you work for; it's also about what you do and how you do it.
