In this role, you will directly oversee the execution of project accounting operations executed by a global team and a portfolio spanning the Asia Pacific, Europe-Middle East, and Americas regions. You will partner with project and asset management leaders, financial planning & analysis, cross-regional accounting teams, and a variety of other stakeholders to align Construction Accounting in delivering towards key organizational objectives.What you ll doThe Sr. Manager, Construction Accounting will report to the Sr. Director, Construction Accounting and will be responsible for the following (not all inclusive):Partner with Sr. Director is managing Construction Accounting operations, including collaborating with key project stakeholders to ensure resources, policies and procedures are properly aligned to achieve organizational objectivesMentoring and coaching direct reports to improve engagement and productivitySupporting teams in process improvement initiativesCollaborate with development project stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the Yardi Job Cost (project accounting) subledger.Directing monthly project reporting reviews with project stakeholdersProviding technical accounting expertise across the defined area of responsibilityEnhance the efficiency and accuracy of completed project transfer process and transmission of pertinent information to related stakeholdersExecution/adherence to SOX controls/partners with internal and external auditors to ensure compliance within areas of responsibilityCollaborating with statutory audit personnel to design and execute completion of testing related to areas of responsibility in efficient mannerOverseeing monthly accounting close for construction in progress section of the balance sheetPartnering with accounting peers to stay abreast of current and potential future issues/policy changes impacting area of responsibility and ensures his/her resources are aligned to achieve organizational objectivesSupporting ad-hoc reporting to the Senior Director of Construction Accounting, Accounting leadership, and C-Level executives.What you ll needTo be a good fit for the Sr. Manager, Construction Accounting opportunity you will have:Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting experience and minimum of 3 years experience leading and developing teams.Experience working on large-scale capital projects, preferably in the real estate industry, with a keen understanding of construction project accounting principles.Experience working for a global corporation with complex reporting and audit requirements (statutory audits, value-added/goods-and-services taxes, levees, import duties)Yardi experience preferred, but not requiredSeasoned in working with variety of audit stakeholders, including internal and external audit teamsA bit about usDigital Realty brings companies and data together by delivering the full spectrum of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.
