Position Summary

Our missions and Airmen s safety rest on the integrity of our aircraft. Our Aircraft Maintenance Officers help keep all of these aircraft in perfect working order. On top of directing essential maintenance operations, they conduct inspections, coordinate combat support and perform airdrops. Working across a wide range of aircraft, including fighters, strike fighters and attack planes, their skill set is vital to our continued success.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance for working and disabled aircraft and ground equipment.
  • Formulate maintenance plans and conduct periodic inspections.
  • Coordinate quality assurance through training, budget and resource management.
  • Direct aircraft maintenance and repair.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree
  • Knowledge of capabilities, limitations and basic operating principles of aircraft systems and components
  • Knowledge of theory of flight and airframe construction
  • Understanding of transportation, logistics, munitions and other operations related to aircraft maintenance units
  • Completion of an AETC in-residence Aircraft Officer Course
  • Completion of Officer Training School (OTS), Air Force Academy (AFA) or Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFROTC)
  • Completion of 7.5 weeks of Basic Military Training
  • Must be between the ages of 17 and 42
