TOOL & DIE REPAIR


PURPOSE

Repair a variety of tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, templates, inspection fixtures and gauges and similar devices. Change over and set up various types of die, utility presses and other production equipment.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • from EAM work orders and record labor and inventory transactions in EAM.
  • from production schedule to stage housing side and utility press dies.
  • over dies in tool room. Take dies apart and change out details to run a variety of different parts.
  • with shop floor computer terminals to record time and production activities.
  • operating problems with tools and dies, determine appropriate action and make repairs.
  • worn or damaged die, determine extent of wear or damage, repair, replace, adjust, prepare and tryout die.
  • and repair a variety of tools, templates and dies including blanking, piercing, bending, forming, drawing and other stamping dies; welding, drilling and assembly templates, jigs and fixtures.
  • difficult bench work involving filing, grinding, lapping, fitting and polishing.
  • to use manual mill, lathe and surface grinders.
  • calipers, micrometers, verniers, comparator and other precision measuring instruments to maintain close tolerances.
  • able to read and interpret Blueprints and check parts verify they match the drawings.
  • with die setting at presses.
  • forklift, walk behind forklift, and overhead crane as required.
  • and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision.
  • all prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.


Successful Candidates should have:

A high school diploma or GED certificate preferred.

The ability to stand for long periods of time.

The ability to perform continuous repetitive motions.

The ability to operate factory machinery.

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Strong people skills

The ability to problem solve and make decisions independently

The ability to complete daily tasks in a timely manner.

The ability to follow all safety protocols.

Pay Rate: $23.00 - $26.68/hour (based on experience)

Hours: 1:00PM 11:00PM Monday Thursday. Must be willing to work OT throughout the week and or Fridays as matters arise. Initial training for this position will be performed during dayshift hours and will transition to second shift based on progress and performance.
