General Manager - Pharmaceuticals


Job Details

We are seeking an experienced business leader. The General Manager will be responsible for leading all operations and driving growth in the Pharmaceutical business. As the site leader and under general direction, you will plan, organize, coordinate and direct growth, operations and programs to maintain short and long term financial and organizational goals, while fulfilling commitments to customers.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Assure the prioritization of safety for all colleagues and customers in everything we do.
  • Own the annual operational plan commitments including revenues, profit, productivity, quality, customer delivery, staffing, and other operational performance areas with a strong focus on accurate and timely forecasting.
  • Lead a culture focused on continuous improvement in the areas of operational excellence, colleague engagement, being a zero-injury workplace, and delivering sustainable results.
  • Train, manage and direct a team over of over 75 employees, communicate goals and objectives, provide direction, motivation and engagement to colleagues.
  • Create and maintain a learning environment that promotes teamwork, coaching and cooperation.
  • Manage and growing staffing levels and ensure proper skill sets to achieve goals while implementing strategies to improve on the sites engagement results.
  • Responsible to work effectively with location support functions and systems including Quality, Safety, Security, Finance, Human resources, Business Improvement, and Service Excellence.
  • Lead and inspire a culture of safety first.
  • Develop and execute short- and long-term business plans and strategies to include operational goals, equipment needs, innovative operational and client solutions aligned with staffing for the location.
  • Work in conjunction long term group growth goals, develop and implement strategies based on geographic business industry knowledge, changing market conditions, technical capability and expertise, and capital expenditures.
  • Responsible for capital equipment and facilities planning. Prepare and submit accurate plans and forecasts as required, maintain acceptable levels of working capital, and determine and execute on corrective actions necessary to achieve plan goals.


Qualifications

  • 10+ years management experience managing an enterprise with at least 75+ employees and 6-8 subordinate managers/supervisors over multiple shifts, ideally within the pharmaceutical or CDMO industry
  • Proven track record of P & L Success and business development, including sales growth, marketing strategies, negotiating and closing deals, process improvements, innovation, setting budgets, hitting targets, and profitability, growing and developing teams, managing safety and quality, and engaging and developing teams.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to proactively identify financial challenges, analyze available information and identify innovative solutions.
  • Strong customer engagement experience with both direct contact with customers and leading an organization to best serve customers.
  • Must be able to effectively trouble shoot and resolve day to day business challenges. Involve cross-functional team members in resolving matters that impact them. Work towards cross-functional win-win solutions.
  • Must have a strong ability to partner with other colleagues and departments (e.g., Sales, Marketing, Legal, Human Resources, Finance)
  • Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects and requests simultaneously, within an intense, deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to with the ability to effectively articulate and present ideas to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
