Assembly Technician - Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Assembly Technician is responsible for completing highly specific and technically sensitive assemblies. The work assigned may vary from bonding, powder coating, laser welding, and riveting. The duties performed may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Read and follow work instructions and operating procedures.
  • Measure, mix, and apply epoxy to specifications.
  • Load and assemble fixtures.
  • Complete light assembly work through all phases of bonding process.
  • Operate drill press, degreaser, and vacuum chamber.
  • Operate laser welding machine(s) to specifications.
  • Read and understand blueprints and quality documents.
  • Perform routine quality checks and tests as required.
  • Ability to use various hand tools (i.e. drills, wrenches, etc.) as needed.
  • Use calipers, micrometers, and other measuring devices.
  • Perform powder coating operations/applications and operate equipment.
  • Clean and maintain powder coat machine components and tools.
  • Perform in-process inspections using microscope.
  • Ensure quality powder coat application to fabricated parts.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and ability follow company policies.
  • Follow proper safety procedures and wear required protective equipment.
  • Complete other duties as required.

  • Ability to solve problems and working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail and ability to focus for extended periods of time.
  • Strong finger strength and great hand-eye coordination.

Education & Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-2 years experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proto Trak and cylindrical grinding experience a plus.
  • Previous bonding & assembly experience a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 30 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to use manual machinery.
