Shady Grove Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Biomed Engineering Technician for our Biomed Engineering Department who will embrace our mission to extend God's care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing.

As a Biomed Engineer you will:
Respond to service calls to evaluate, diagnose and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on biomedical electronic equipment, verifying proper condition and operation. Also provides training to BioMed Technicians and monitors biomedical equipment vendors performing on-site service.
Demonstrates actions and attitude that contributes to the critical success factors of the organization (i.e. Best place to work, Most extraordinary experience, Superior outcomes, Financial success for reinvestment, A growing organization vital to the community).
Perform performance assurance (PA) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections (ESI), and operation verification procedures (OVP) on general biomedical equipment
Repair, install, and calibrate general biomedical equipment
Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations, and any customer concerns
Ensures confidentiality of all patient and physician related data contained in the reporting process
Work with, direct, and document the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and outside service technicians to ensure proper service delivery
Maintain biomedical expertise through ongoing training and education
Participates in data submission to the ACC and STS
Assist with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include the inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history
Adhere to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliances and other applicable policies and procedures
Performs Incoming Inspections (II) to maintain a complete and accurate inventory of medical devices, including trial and evaluation, rental, and loaner equipment in addition to permanently assigned equipment inventory.
Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the equipment database to include inventory, performance assurance (PA) schedules, nomenclature, and service history
Make recommendations regarding inventory

Qualifications include:
A.S. in Electronics, Mechanical Principles or equivalent formal technical training
Proficiency to independently perform repairs and planned maintenance on a variety of clinical equipment.
2 years experience as Biomedical Technician, hospital experience preferred.
Effective technical communications skills.
Ability to work independently and also in a collaborative environment.
Strong customer service skills.
Proficient in PC skills in a MS Windows environment. (e-mail, work order processing, procurement, etc.)
Complex computer skills including the ability to interpret error codes, defragment hard-drives, replace power supplies, and interpret computer codes required
Ability to prioritize projects and set realistic timelines
Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills
Ability to integrate information from a variety of sources
Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks at one time

Monday-Friday

8am-430pm
