Practice Development Manager - Corporate and M&A (Hybrid)

Description:

Holland & Knight is seeking a Practice Development Manager to advance the business development and marketing goals and objectives of its Business Section, including select Corporate and M&A practice groups. Working together with firm leadership, and the broader business development and marketing team, the Practice Development Manager serves as the primary point of contact to facilitate client opportunities with the lawyers, develop key messaging for better positioning in the market, and collaborate across departmental and geographic lines to identify and pursue leading revenue-generating opportunities.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assume responsibility for managing the marketing and business development activities of assigned groups and practices.
  • Spearhead the development of, as well as implement and track, the business plans for the assigned practice groups.
  • Develop and manage budgets.
  • Develop and maintain collateral materials, including brochures, deal or case lists, practice descriptions and other web site content.
  • Create and implement integrated marketing campaigns for the assigned groups and practices to help raise our profile and awareness among our key target audiences and generate opportunities to meet potential clients.
  • Serve as a strategic intermediary between the firm's marketing team and its business development/sales personnel.
  • Assess opportunities and assist in developing responses to RFP's and pitches for new business.
  • Identify and direct practice group research efforts for the assigned areas, including trends and issues, targeted companies, etc.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to identify and develop opportunities to promote good results, "star" attorneys or other work product for the assigned practice groups and teams.
  • Seek opportunities to leverage practice group or team successes to other firm practice groups, offices or teams. Identify opportunities to cross sell assigned practice group services across the firm.
  • Work collaboratively with Regional Marketing Coordinators to organize activities for the assigned practice groups and activities that are "on the ground" in other offices, such as seminars, events, sponsorships, etc.
  • Facilitate the directory submission process for relevant ranking organizations/publications.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 6 years' of experience in business development and/or marketing. Law firm experience required.
  • Proven experience with brand strategy and management and the ability to turn that strategy into client-focused, actionable business plans.
  • Excellent writer and communicator.
  • Familiarity with corporate transactions.
  • Strategic thinker who understands branding and consistency of message.
  • Self-starter with the discipline required to balance long-term strategic vision with effective day-to-day implementation of strategy.
  • Ability to drive a unified, one-firm marketing plan.
Minimum Education:
  • Bachelor's degree.
