**One full-time position available:**

* Training period 90 days to six (6) months

* Training location, Williston Retail Store

* Upon successful completion of training, Store Manager in Training will move into a full-time exempt position as a Retail Store Manager

**Job Summary:**

The Store Manager In Training, under the supervision of an assigned Store Manager and Regional Director of Store Operations, works within the specified program duration to develop and exhibit knowledge, understanding, and excellence in key store and donation center operations management. The Store Manager In Training, working within the scope of Goodwill Northern New Englands Citizenship Behaviors, integrates social, economic, and environmental triple bottom line objectives into thinking, planning and action.

**Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:**

1) Successfully perform managerial functions that pertain to the daily activities of a $1,000,000 to $1,500,000 annual top line sales revenue store and donation center, to include:

* Financial management and performance

* Store cleanliness and presentation standards

* Inventory management and merchandising

* Process execution: donated and new goods processing

* Staffing, training, scheduling, performance management, and retention

* Labor cost management

* Best-in-class Customer engagement and satisfaction

* Safety and Loss Prevention

* Store Administration

* Create a fun environment where customers and employees delight in their Goodwill experience

2) Represent the Agency in all interactions with others members of the Goodwill community and with the general public, supporting the agency Vision of creating sustainable communities that thrive through the fullest participation of their diverse residents.

3) Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as Agency policies.

**Detailed essential duties include:**

* Actively manages and ensure donations are processed fully and on time to maximize waste diversion and achieve optimum used goods sales revenue

* Ensures shopper and donors satisfaction

* Builds and manages a team, creating a positive experience for all employees and ensuring the store has adequate staffing and effective schedules to meet the needs of the business

* Ensures timely and effective execution of operational plans

* Mentors and trains peers in best practices as assigned

* Exhibits Goodwill NNE citizenship behaviors inside and outside of the Agency

* Builds relationships and collaborates across functional boundaries to achieve results

* Maintains a clean and safe work environment for employees and customers

* Enrolls self and staff in Agency standard trainings in a timely manner

* Develops professionally through enrollment and successful completion of appropriate and relevant retail/business related classes/trainings

* Leverages data to define, measure, analyze, improve, and control analyzes and addresses store needs, leveraging merchandising needs and inventory needs to ensure adequate levels of inventory through consistent achievement of production goals

* Utilizes the five essential functions of management (Set Objectives, Organize, Communicate and Motivate, Develop People, Measure)

* Ensures department staffing needs are met including recruitment, hiring, training and retention

* Ensures employee compliance with security, safety, and sustainability guidelines

* Maintains records in compliance with applicable Agency and legal requirements

* Analyze reports and trends with the goal of taking specific action to produce results

* Scheduling to meet the needs of the business

* Ensures every member of the team follows standard operating procedures

* Provides ongoing performance coaching and feedback using the Continue, Start, Stop model

* Delegates effectively and follows up to ensure expectations are met

* Achieves sales and contribution budgets

* Manages expenses within allocated budget

* Manages Reductions to protect Gross Margin (COGS, Shrink, Markdowns)

* Other duties as assigned.

**Minimum Qualifications:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* 1 year successful supervisory experience at Goodwill; or 1+ year successful store manager / assistant store manager experience with full P&L responsibility in a small box or C-Store environment; or 1+ years of successful management experience in a big box environment

* Ability to work a full-time schedule, including early morning, overnight, and weekend shifts

* Ability to work in, or transfer to other locations as needed

* Exceptional communication and organizational skills

* Eagerness and ability to successfully learn and grow within the role and the company

* Ability to maintain a positive, friendly attitude in order to be a great teammate, role model and effective leader

* Exceptional communication and organizational skills

* Financial, administrative and computer literacy necessary to successfully complete the responsibilities of the role.

* Valid Drivers License with a safe driving record and insurance meeting agency standards

* Criminal background check that meets Agency standards.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* 4-year college or Bachelors Degree

* Prior retail experience as supervisor or manager

* CPR and First Aid Certification

* Multi-lingual including ASL

* Prior multi-unit retail experience
