Job Title: Financial Project Manager

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:
    • Manage and maintain project financials, overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes.
  2. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with tech product owners and project managers to develop project budgets and forecasts.
    • Monitor and analyze project financial performance, identifying and documenting variances.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and distribute regular financial reports to leadership, highlighting key metrics, variances, and trends.
    • Provide insights and analysis to support decision-making, ensuring transparency and accountability.
  4. Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with technical product managers and project managers to provide financial guidance and support.
    • Effectively communicate financial information, building strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders.
  5. Process Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in financial management.
    • Streamline financial processes, enhance data accuracy and integrity, leveraging technology tools for optimization.
  6. Project Governance:
    • Maintain project governance processes and standards, ensuring adherence to project management methodologies and best practices.
    • Develop and implement project management policies, procedures, and templates.
  7. Resource Management:
    • Assist in resource allocation and capacity planning.
    • Coordinate with project managers to ensure appropriate resource availability and utilization.
  8. Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with project management standards.
    • Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  9. PMO Support:
    • Provide administrative and operational support to the PMO.
    • Maintain project management tools, templates, and repositories.
  10. Continuous Improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization within the PMO.
  11. PMO Governance and Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing accurate and complete project documentation.
    • Maintain PMO governance frameworks and controls.

Qualifications/Skill set:
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in project financial management, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in financial management software and tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Professional certifications such as CPA or CFA are a plus.
  • Proven experience in project management or PMO roles.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and frameworks (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
