Position Summary

Primary academic responsibilities, including classroom teaching, simulation, and clinical oversight in the BSN program, preference for candidates with Adult Health, leadership, and or teaching research experience. The faculty member will work in collaboration with the other faculty and the Director of the BSN Program. The position will have a 25-50% time in student success. Faculty members will have additional teaching responsibilities in other courses; faculty have responsibilities associated with scholarship and service. Tenure Track or Professional Track

Responsibilities

  • Provide a student-centered learning environment that enables students to attain success.
  • Maintain program and course outcomes at a level to ensure appropriate workplace skill levels for graduates.
  • Academic Advisement
  • Student Success - Actively assisting the nursing program in retention efforts.
  • Participate in course, program, and institutional assessment as assigned.
  • Regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and continuous improvement sessions.
  • Remain current with trends, techniques, and technological advances that apply to the program.
  • Maintain open and timely communication with the program director, faculty, and students.
  • Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence and attendance.
  • Maintain and submit accurate and timely reports for student grades.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the BSN Director or Dean
  • Refer students with questions regarding financial aid, academics, attendance, and personal issues or concerns to the appropriate departments.


Requirements

  • Two years of RN Adult Health clinical practice experience
  • MSN in nursing
  • Illinois unencumbered RN license or eligible for
  • Possess a clear understanding and personal commitment to North Park University's mission of Christian higher education
  • Have good attention to detail and excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Be customer-friendly and hospitable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.


Preferred

  • Ph.D. Or DNP
  • Experience with student success, NCLEX RN prep
  • Experience with ATI resources
  • Experience teaching undergraduate RN students
  • Ability to work independently and with others and to be proactive
  • Have experience with Enterprise Systems.
  • Comfortable with using new technology
