Intellectual Property Legal Assistant


Job Details

LHH Recruiting Solutions is currently in search of a skilled and experienced IP Legal Assistant in Chicago, IL to join our team on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in intellectual property law and be familiar with patent and trademark processes. The legal assistant will provide support to attorneys by managing IP portfolios, drafting legal documents, and conducting research.


Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in managing intellectual property portfolios, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights
  • Prepare and file patent and trademark applications, responses to office actions, and other legal documents
  • Conduct research on intellectual property laws, regulations, and case law
  • Communicate with clients, patent and trademark offices, and other legal professionals
  • Assist with drafting and reviewing licensing agreements, confidentiality agreements, and other IP-related contracts
  • Organize and maintain IP files and databases
  • Assist with monitoring and enforcing IP rights
  • Perform other administrative tasks as needed


Qualifications:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • 12+ years of experience working as a legal assistant within the IP legal sector.
  • Knowledge of patent and trademark processes and procedures
  • Familiarity with legal research tools and databases
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy


Pay Details: $65,000 to $80,000 based on experience
