Packer - 2nd Shift


Job Details

This role contributes to our success by safely packaging finished product from the production lines while following all HACCP procedures, ensuring quality measures, and assisting the production staff. This role operates between 7PM - 7AM.

  • Supports activities for team members to meet or exceed business goals around Safety, Training, Quality, Production, and Cost
  • Manages packaging of bags of product into finished packaged products
  • Supports building finished pallets
  • Carries out prescribed daily and weekly sanitation procedures
  • Comply with all GMP best practices
  • Ensures that the highest safety and sanitation standards are maintained
  • Packs bags of product into cases and/or cartons into cases
  • Check date coding list for correct date on each product.
  • Stacks packaged products onto pallets
  • Run boxes through tape machine.
  • Assembles cartons, applies stickers and packs cases according to case specifications while verifying the package quality of finished product.
  • Assemble cases and display products for finished pallets
  • Communicate quality concerns with urgency to PMO or Production Supervisor
  • Assist in clearing bagging Jam-Ups.
  • Assist in blow down and clean-up during change overs
  • Maintain cleanliness of workspace throughout their shift
  • Clean and sanitize equipment and during their shift and end of work week SSOP clean up
  • Perform any other duties as required by Supervisor or Managers
Requirements
  • Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Requires knowledge of product quality. HACCP-specific knowledge preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Ability to work well on a team but be self-motivated and Independent
  • Continuous standing and walking
  • Required to use hands to finger, handle or feel reach, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste and smell
  • Constant bending and lifting required (50 lbs.)
  • Specific vision including close, distance, peripheral, depth and ability to focus
  • Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes/airborne particles and vibrations
