Job Details

Proof School invites applications for teachers in computer science. The position begins in July 2024, and comes with low class loads and generous benefits. The initial salary range is $79,597 to $99,496.


ABOUT THE POSITION

Full-time positions at Proof School are structured to allow teachers ample time to prepare for classes, respond to student work, and collaborate with colleagues. A standard teaching load totals 10 hours per week of class time, with an average class size of 12 students. Faculty participate in the full life of the school, from running clubs to mentoring students to engaging in outreach. A bachelor s degree is required; an advanced degree and experience working with secondary school students is preferred.


Primary responsibilities include teaching upper-level electives (such as Data Structures and Algorithms, Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, or Languages) to high school students as well as foundational programming courses to middle school students. Additional responsibilities include mentoring independent projects and teaching mini-courses related to computer science or the successful candidate s interests. We seek an individual who can construct engaging classroom activities and play a significant role in the full life of the school.

Proof School was founded on the premise that kids who love math would thrive in a community of students who share that love. We are a full curriculum school. With about 115 students in grades 6 through 12, our vibrant, small school community prizes curiosity, initiative, and persistence. The school is located in downtown San Francisco and serves some of the most motivated students in the Bay Area, with students commuting up to two hours each way for a transformative liberal arts education.
