Logistics Manager
Reporting to: Operations Superintendent
Delta Biofuel is seeking a strong communicator and flexible multi-tasking planner to take the key role as Logistics Manager for its ground-breaking bagasse pelletizing facility in Jeanerette, Louisiana. Construction has begun and Delta is seeking immediate involvement of an ideal candidate who can take part in the establishment of policy, procedures, logistics and personnel development for the plant. In addition to being a strong planner, the candidate should be able to show a history of encouraging teamwork, community, and a collaborative atmosphere. Significant experience is also required regarding ability to establish and follow bulk material loading and trucking safety guidelines and create a healthy work environment for all employees.
Responsibilities
- Oversee plant feedstock and product logistics such as schedule and logistics efficiency
- Maintain clean and safe workplace
- Analyze logistics costs and schedules to establish areas for improvements
- Ensure adherence to local laws, rules, procedures, and workplace policies
- Examine trucking and logistics plans to effectively use available resources
- Manage all aspects of the logistics of the facility including a team of 72 truck drivers spread across four 24/7 shifts
Qualifications
- Recommended but not required Commercial Driver s License
- 15+ years of experience in continuous process operations logistics management
- Experience in material handling continuous operations
- Experience in self-unloading belts or hopper trailers is a distinct differentiator
- Strong communication, management and supervisory skills
