It's an exciting time to join us, as we re achieving exponential growth. Due to our growth, PSD Citywide has a new opening for a dedicated Business Development Representative in the California market. This is a full time remote role based in California. The successful candidate must live in the designated state. Our California office is located in El Segundo, California. Travel is required in this role. Base salary for this role is between $50,000-$60,000 USD plus commission.


Job Description

As a member of the Sales team, the Business Development Representative is responsible for generating interest in PSD Citywide products to support the sales organization. As a successful candidate, you will be involved in increasing brand awareness and generating leads by promoting our solutions through various in-person, cold-calling, event, and media channels. You will work closely with our sales team to achieve sales goals and objectives, and communicate the value of our products/solutions to prospective clients.


To excel in this role, you will have excellent communication and networking skills, and a strong ability to self-motivate and lead. Previous experience as a Business Development Representative or similar role is an asset, as well as knowledge of sales principles.


Responsibilities & Duties

  • Proactively making contact with local government decision makers and influencers, bringing awareness to PSD's software products
  • Contact potential clients through cold calls or emails
  • Set up introduction meetings or calls between prospective clients and Account Managers
  • Utilize business and industry knowledge to research accounts and identify key stakeholders
  • Attend and act as sole-company representative at local events within their respective territory
  • Be the local representative for any sponsorships or in-market sales-building activities like golf tournaments, charitable events, or luncheons
  • Collaborate with the Account Managers and Regional Managers to determine sales targets and overall strategy
  • Develop relationships with prospective clients
  • Become a subject matter expert on our business products, processes, and operations, and remain up to date on industry news
  • Be a personable, fun, and engaging representative of the company whose sole objective is to make a positive first impression, and entice prospects to learn more about our company


Qualifications

  • Bachelor s Degree in Business or related field
  • 1-3 years experience in business development and lead generation, ideally within software sales
  • Local government experience with finance, public works, or permitting is considered an asset
  • Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated and self-directed with a strong sense of urgency
  • Friendly, approachable, and outgoing personality with a keen interest in meeting new people
  • Adaptable with the ability to prioritize tasks with limited in-person supervision
  • Ability to travel, with use of a personal vehicle required
  • A highly collaborative person with excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills - including the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all business levels
