Cabling Installation Technician (O&M) (JUNIOR)The Cabling Installation Technician is responsible for performing the installation ofpremise network cabling systems for the Cable Installation Support Services (CISS) program.Who is Fusion Technology?Fusion Technology is a performance-driven HUBZone Small Business concern residing in the heart of the beautiful mountainsides of West Virginia, steps away from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Criminal Justice Information Services Division's Headquarters. Install, label and test premise cabling, connections, patch panels, equipmentenclosures/cabinets, cable tray, Protective Distribution System (PDS) conduit, andassociated hardware.2. Updating cable run sheets and other documentation as required.3. Read and interpret system installation drawings and design packages, and applythat knowledge to cabling installations4. Install LC, MTRJ, SC and RJ45 connector termination, and test fiber-optic andcopper cabling systems.5. Labeling of cables and associated hardware according to standards and cable runsheets.6. Install various types of cable tray, Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) andEMT conduit up to 4 inches.7. Able to fusion splice fiber optic cable.Required Qualifications and Experience:1. Must be highly proficient in the installation and test of premise cabling,connections, patch cords, patch panels, equipment enclosures/cabinets, cable tray,PDS conduit, and associated hardware.2. Possess a demonstrated ability in reading and interpreting system installationdrawings and design packages, and applying that knowledge to the cablinginstallation, and promoting a safe work environment and implementing safe workpractices.3. Must be proficient in the proper handling, installation, of LC, MTRJ, SC andRJ45 connector termination, and testing of fiber-optic and copper cablingsystems.404. Must be proficient in the installation of various types of cable tray, PDS, andEMT conduit up to 4 inches.5. A minimum of two (2) years' experience in the installation of copper and fiber[1]optic cable plants is required6. Must possess a valid Driver's License7. Must Possess a Top-Secret government security clearance.a. Preferred but not required: Building Industry Consulting ServiceInternational (BICSI) Installer 1 (INST1), BICSI Installer 2, Copper(INSTC) and BICSI Installer 2, Optical Fiber (INSTF) certification arehighly desirable.Must have the following required certifications:1. Must be confined space certified for outside plant installations.2. Permit-Required Confined Spaces Certification3. Forklift Certification4.
