**Role Summary**

The Hotel Operator provides prompt, courteous and efficient handling of all incoming calls and assistance for outgoing calls which transpire thought PBX. Plays an integral part in assisting with emergencies (fire, medical, power failure) by contacting the designated personnel for immediate assistance.

**Core Responsibilities**

Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done! Within the Auberge family, our people always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their team-mates. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:

* Respond to incoming calls within 3 rings, using correct greeting and telephone etiquette. Direct calls to the proper extension or take clear and concise messages.

* Maintain familiarity of all Hotel facilities and their hours of operation and answer guest inquiries about the property.

* Maintain logs for Lost and Found as well as Guest Requests and Maintenance.

* Have an understanding of the paging and radio system to get ahold of each department.

Record and monitor incoming, outgoing, and delivery of guest laundry and hotel packages.

**Required Qualifications**

Must be a friendly and hospitable person with a passion for guest services. Ability to clearly and pleasantly communicate in English with guests/employees to their understanding both in person and by telephone. Ability to remain stationary and sit for extended periods of time. Prior customer service experience desired. Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
