The Field Service Technician will support field service and sales personnel on technical aspects of stud welding systems. Install and troubleshoot stud welding equipment at automotive manufacturing customer sites (OEM and tier suppliers) in the Unites States and Canada. Travel to support customer needs.


  • Primary responsibility is repair and testing of equipment at the Brook Park office.
  • Assessment, repair, maintenance and testing of customer equipment.
  • Track requests and report on service performance (turn-around time, revenue, etc.)
  • Report weekly activities with following week s schedule and escalate urgent issues.
  • Identify and communicate any sales/upgrade opportunities.
  • Perform installation, repair, maintenance and troubleshooting of stud welding equipment.
  • Provide support and guidance for requests from customers, field service and sales personnel on configuring, troubleshooting and technical aspects of stud welding systems. In-person and phone requests.
  • Construction, installation, and commissioning new equipment at customer site.
  • Engagement of customer manufacturing personnel.
  • Interface equipment with manufacturing IT systems.
  • Demonstration of equipment capabilities and applications.
  • Instructing (training) colleagues and customer personnel on proper application, use, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Pursue, resolve and implement. remedies or solutions to concerns, issues and problems raised by customers and within the organization.
  • Collaboration with colleagues and customers to satisfy requirements.
  • Successful and timely completion of duties.
  • Productive working relationship with colleagues and customers.


Experience and Qualifications:


  • Experience with electro-mechanical automated assembly equipment.
  • Certification or college degree in a technical discipline.
  • Ability to work independently and perform job responsibilities without supervision at customer manufacturing locations.
  • Motivated to complete assignments and satisfy customer requirements.
  • Initiative to take action to address problems, concerns and issues.
  • Ability to assess problems, devise countermeasures and implement solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.
  • Basic understanding of materials such as steel and aluminum.
  • Ability to comprehend technical documents.
  • Certification to work with 3-phase power (480V)
  • Experience with electro-mechanical automated assembly equipment for high volume automotive production.
  • Problem solving, devising countermeasures and implementing solutions.
  • Programming of electronic controls for automation.
  • Experience with 3-phase electric power.
  • Fluent in English and/or German a plus.
