Electrical Designer / Engineer

Primary Responsibilities
Plan and prepare electrical,
telecommunications,
security and limited architectural layouts and design drawings from engineering notes and sketches
Ensure that all design drawings and plans meet company and industry CAD standards
Work closely with Engineers and Project Managers to ensure coordination across disciplines
Design and draft the following types of plans using AutoDesk AutoCAD and Revit:
Facility shell design, plan views
Electrical plans, panel schedules, elevations, details, risers
Telecommunications/security
plans, schedules and details
Circuit schematics, controls diagrams
Organize and maintain all revisions of project drawings, plot files, and project-related information in a logical and structured manner
Prepare project submissions
Minimum Requirements
3-10 years of drafting/design experience
Strong working knowledge of recent releases of Autodesk AutoCAD software
Must have experience with AutoCAD and Revit
Good knowledge within CAD drawings related to the following:
Layer management and usage
Drawings scales as they relate to text, dimensions, lines, viewports, etc
Plotting, publishing, plot styles and scales, pen tables
Drawing setup, external reference management
Document and revision control
Good knowledge within Revit Models related to the following:
Model setup and links management.
Templates, worksets, families, etc.
Printing and publishing.
Document and revision control
Experience in standard MEP building design experience in multiple disciplines preferred
Knowledge of AIA CAD Standards and National CAD Standards
Ability to prioritize and multi-task while working on multiple parallel projects
Computer proficiency, especially operating systems and common software packages (MS Office, etc)
Strong communications skills, both written and oral
Willingness to learn and assume increased responsibilities when required
Self-starter; able to work independently and with minimum supervision
Able to acquire and maintain a US security clearance
U.S. Citizenship
Desirable
Technical degree or certificate of completion from an accredited designer/drafter curriculum
Knowledge of local and international building codes NFPA, IBC, etc
Experience with US government CAD standards (i.e. DOS, USACE)
Active US security clearance
