Position Description:The ideal candidate will have familiarity working with local waste disposal facilities on profiling, coordinating transportation and disposal. The successful candidate will have knowledge of state-specific regulatory requirements and the capability to interpret regulations and interact with regulatory agencies. The position requires professional conduct, and excellence in workmanship and work product. This candidate should be able to multi-task and have the ability to switch to new projects accordingly.



Target Responsibilities

  • Identify, characterize, and properly manage waste streams generated by Oil and Gas upstream and midstream activities
  • Complete, track, update, and renew waste profiles; Coordinate and accurately track the daily movement of all waste; Review waste disposal records per company and regulatory standards;
  • Ensure compliance with safety and waste handling regulations between Operations and waste contractors
  • Work directly with all Operations teams for waste handling on active locations, including scheduling lab analysis as required by Operations
  • Work directly with waste haulers to ensure compliance with DOT regulations; and
  • Support and maintain records for TENORM metering program and Radiation Action Plan;
  • Perform desktop & on-site facility audits for Waste Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities for facility approval.
  • Perform third-party disposal audits to ensure compliance with regulations and company values;
  • Work with Regulatory Reporting with agency required waste reports;
  • Maintain knowledge on current and upcoming federal, state, and local waste handling, disposal, and permitting regulations.
  • Provide instruction to company employees on processes and requirements for proper waste management

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years work experience in Oil & Gas
  • State-specific (PA, WV, OH, VA) regulatory requirements and the capability to interpret regulations and interact with regulatory agencies
  • Limited travel may be required
  • Understand Health and Safety concerns specific to waste management
  • RCRA Training
  • Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) Training as outlined in 49 CFR

Preferred Requirements

  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER Certified
  • Radiation Safety Training; Radiation Safety Officer preferred.
