**Job Description**
**Scope of Position**
Ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Ocean Import Department.
**Major Duties and Responsibilities**
Shipment management:
* Track and trace inbound Ocean Import shipments as required
* Shipment management: Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
* Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operating system
* Turn over documents timely to customer or broker for customs purposes
* Prepare in bond documentation and dispatch shipments for timely delivery of freight to customers
* Ensure accurate and timely client and Service Providers billing
Internal & External Customer Service:
* Interact with our customers in arranging their international shipments, meeting customer service standards
* Contribute to maintaining strong relationships with service providers (steamship lines, trucking companies, and others)
* Overseas communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)
* Provide Operations expertise to other teams within the organization, including Customs Brokerage, Sales & Account Management, Accounting, etc.
Development and Compliance:
* Understand department process flow, constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency
* Ensure all customers' standard operating procedures are followed and updated
* Meet KPI standards, as per the company procedures
* Meet compliance at all times to regulations. This includes internal policies and procedures such as Operational Process Standards (OPS) and external government regulations or customers policies / requirements
* Pursue personal development; Meet the minimum required 52 hours of Compliance and Development training per year
**Qualifications**
* Bachelors degree preferred
* 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Understanding of ocean or customs documentation process a plus
* Effective interpersonal skills
* Pro-active, strong organizational skills
* Good computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word)
* Attention to Detail
* Fluent in English
*This is an onsite position, based in SeaTac, WA.
