Job Title: Sr Wireless Network Engineer:

Position Description

Join our collaborative wireless network engineering team in a NOC tier 2&3 environment. Ideal candidates possess expertise in enterprise Wi-Fi, ODAS, FWA, LTE, and CBRS solutions. Responsibilities include wireless performance monitoring, analytical troubleshooting, and engineering support for broadband network operations. Duties also entail administration of client Wi-Fi network components such as Access Points, Routers, Switches, and firewalls, along with utilizing network monitoring tools.

Tasks:

  • Troubleshoot and monitor performance of Outdoor Access Points, Microwave backhaul, Routers, and switches.
  • Maintain technical documentation, trouble tickets, and testing procedures.
  • Schedule on-site dispatches and conduct network elements performance testing.
  • Implement configuration changes to ensure high client performance.
  • Utilize advanced troubleshooting tools to resolve performance issues efficiently.
  • Configure and manage Mikrotik Routers, Wireless Access Points, and Backhaul Radios.
  • Troubleshoot LTE CPE & Wifi CPE.
  • Input and catalog database information.
  • Manage Splash Portals and conduct daily system performance checks.
  • Communicate with external customers via email and phone calls.
  • Collaborate with remote contractors to troubleshoot infrastructure issues.

Requirements:

  • Experience in the WISP industry.
  • Proficiency in Mikrotik Router Configuration & Management.
  • Familiarity with Wireless Access Point Configuration & Management.
  • Knowledge of LTE CPE & Wifi CPE Troubleshooting.
  • Previous leadership experience.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering/Technical/Compute Science or equivalent technical experience is preferred.

Experience:

  • 5+ years Wireless Engineering/Planning/Operations Telecommunications experience troubleshooting Wi-Fi, FWA, and/or FTTX, Microwave, or G.hn.

Key Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of Networking principles including IP addressing and routing.
  • Familiarity with Wi-Fi propagation in indoor and outdoor environments, and ability to test SLAs and roaming.
  • Strong customer service orientation and proven analytical/problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks effectively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation.
  • Basic understanding of Wi-Fi authentication and service ordering process.
  • Capability to access and comprehend network device configurations.
  • Ability to define, evaluate, and present alternatives to complex engineering problems.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with additional skills in Access and Visio beneficial.
  • Strong interpersonal and administrative skills with multitasking ability and influence to drive change.
