What this job involves: The General Maintenance Technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment and systems and interior and exterior painting in assigned facilities. Performs inspections and repairs to assigned property interior and exterior areas, including walls and flooring, installed fixtures, roofing systems, lighting, etc.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Perform the repair, maintenance, restoration, and replacement of various components of the physical structure of the buildings
  • Prepare, prime, and paint building interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.
  • Patch and paint office, outside and controlled work environments
  • Maintain and repair locks, locking mechanisms, closers, doors, furniture and controllers.
  • Maintain and repair plumbing components including toilets, urinals, lavatories, flush valves, sinks, drains, water heaters, piping, and sump pumps.
  • Prepare, prime and paint building interior and exterior surfaces and perform general handyman tasks to maintain buildings.
  • General interior maintenance hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems
  • Completes special tasks that include but are not limited to; painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned.
  • Moves office furniture, machinery, equipment and other materials as requested
  • Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on as found conditions impacting satisfactory client occupancy and operations.
  • Respond effectively to all emergencies.
  • Comply with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them.
  • Complies with all policies for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs
  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment.
  • Complete Hazard Assessments as necessary
  • Documents work performance and materials procurement as directed.
  • Perform Vehicle Safety Inspection
  • Any and all other duties assigned

Work Schedule: 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday

Desired or preferred experience and technical skills:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic working knowledge of HVAC/R, plumbing, and electrical desirable.
  • Prior experience as a painter, preferably in commercial or industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in various painting techniques, such as brush, roller, and spray application.
  • Knowledge of different types of paint and finishes.
  • Ability to work meticulously and pay attention to the small details, such as edging, trim work, and touch-ups.
  • Understanding of color theory and the ability to mix paints to achieve desired shades.
  • Knowledge of proper safety protocols and the ability to work with hazardous materials safely.
  • Good communication skills to understand client requirements and provide updates on progress.
  • Previous experience working in life sciences, pharmaceutical or Bio-Tech environment desired.
  • CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) experience desired.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Candidate must possess and maintain a valid state drivers license.
  • Must have ability to regularly lift up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have the ability to safely perform overhead work while standing on ladders.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Skilled in handling painting tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Knowledge of proper surface preparation methods, including cleaning, sanding, and priming.
  • Proper care and maintenance of painting tools, equipment, and work area. Ensuring a clean and organized job site.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other painters, construction professionals, and clients.
  • Flexibility to work in different environments, handle changing priorities, and adjust to various project requirements

Estimated compensation for this position is:

54,080.00 60,320.00 USD
