About the position:

Location: Arlington VA/Houston TX (Hybrid)

The Director of Global Demand Planning is pivotal in driving effective demand forecasting and planning strategies across Fluence worldwide. This role involves collaborating with various teams, analyzing historical data, and ensuring accurate demand projections to meet future supply demands. As part of the Center of Excellence (COE), the incumbent sets planning and purchasing standards, identifies best practices, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess problem-solving skills, utilize data-driven decision-making, and excel in cross-functional collaboration. They will monitor global KPIs, lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) activities and enhance customer demand and material positioning processes in alignment with financial objectives.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

    • Leadership and Training:
    • Provide leadership and mentorship to establish exemplary demand planning processes.
    • Collaborate across functional teams and lead demand/forecast reconciliation meetings.
    • Promote planning concepts and alignment across sites, organizations, and regions.
    • Facilitate negotiations and resolve cross-business issues related to planning.
    • Act as an expert in planning tools and manage the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) program.
    • Forecast Accuracy Enhancement:
    • Implement forecasting best practices to enhance forecast accuracy.
    • Analyze KPIs to identify insights and corrective actions for improved planning metrics.
    • Ensure planning objectives are met through active monitoring and collaboration.
    • Lead demand/forecast reconciliation meetings to align stakeholders' goals.
    • New Product Introductions (NPI):
    • Collaborate with product and Supply Chain NPI teams to develop new product projections.
    • Support the NPI process to ensure timely and budget-compliant product launches.
    • Inventory Management:
    • Drive global inventory activities and continuous improvement projects.
    • Manage cycle counting processes and annual physical inventory.
    • Review inventory adjustments and recommend procedure improvements for accuracy.
Education:
    • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in business, MBA, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Business Administration, or related fields.

Skills:
    • Proficiency in SAP ERP systems preferred.
    • Familiarity with demand planning tools and inventory management systems.
    • Experience with financial budgeting, forecasting, and improvement methodologies.
    • Industry-relevant certifications.
    • Knowledge of inventory reduction methods and lean sourcing/manufacturing.
