Job Details

Our client: $100M+ business unit of a large, manufacturing firm is seeking a Logistics Coordinator to join their team.

The role of a Logistics Coordinator is crucial in managing the seamless flow of materials through shipping and receiving docks, and the production floor ensuring accurate paperwork processing, and facilitating efficient material transactions for both incoming and outgoing shipments. Additionally, this position serves as a pivotal communication link between various departments such as warehouse, production, logistics, quality, purchasing, and material planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prioritize inbound and outbound movement across 25 docks within the facility.
  • Process incoming truckload, LTL, UPS/FedEx shipments from suppliers.
  • Liaise with security personnel to direct truck drivers for deliveries, assigning dock doors or directing trailer placement in the yard.
  • Utilize computer systems and handheld scanners, including Oracle EBS, trailer tracker, and yard switcher app for transaction processing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate verification of inbound shipments, cross-checking counts and visually inspecting contents against provided documentation, promptly addressing any discrepancies or damages.
  • Oversee proper labeling, staging, and placement of received products in designated storage or warehouse areas.
  • Ensure accurate and timely outbound shipments, generating packing lists and Bills of Lading (BOL), validating physical contents against paperwork, and verifying material transactions.
  • Monitor time-sensitive shipments, providing updates and addressing concerns promptly.
  • Provide direction and prioritize material handling tasks for the team throughout the shift.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Utilize inventory control cones and lanes for efficient product identification and clearance of shipping/receiving docks.
  • Compile and circulate end-of-shift email updates to communicate status and address any outstanding concerns requiring follow-up.

  • Comfortable working a 2nd Shift (3pm-11:30pm)

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in shipping, receiving, or warehousing roles.
  • Proficiency in working within a computer-based environment.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving aptitude applicable to a manufacturing setting.
  • Competencies in situational leadership, ethical decision-making, problem-solving, strategic thinking, and cultural sensitivity.
