Job Title: Grants Writer (Temporary to Hire)

Location: Washington DC area (Hybrid)

Salary: $30-35 per hour (Temporary); $70,000-75,000 annually (Permanent)

Job Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent conversion)


LHH is partnering with a leading non-profit organization in the Washington DC area. As they continue to expand operations, they are seeking a talented Grants Writer to join the team on a temporary basis with the potential for permanent conversion.


Position Overview: We are looking for a skilled Grants Writer to support our fundraising efforts by researching, writing, and submitting grant proposals. The successful candidate will have a strong ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally, and will possess excellent research skills. This position offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively with our team to secure funding for our important initiatives.


Responsibilities:

  • Research potential grant opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.
  • Write compelling grant proposals, including budgets and supporting documents, in a clear and concise manner.
  • Collaborate with program managers and other staff to gather necessary information for grant applications.
  • Manage the grant application process from start to finish, ensuring timely submission and compliance with all requirements.
  • Maintain a calendar of grant deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with grant-making organizations.
  • Track and report on the success of grant applications and awards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., English, Communications, Nonprofit Management).
  • Proven experience in grant writing, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to gather and synthesize information from various sources.
  • Familiarity with grant databases and online resources.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit fundraising principles and practices.
