Specific Responsibilities

Job Description - Electrician III

I. Possess a working knowledge of all industry related electrical equipment and be able to install, troubleshoot, repair or replace all electrical system components.
a. Know the functions of all related electrical equipment
i. Transmission Level equipment
ii. Primary Distribution Level Equipment
iii. Secondary Level Equipment

II. Be able to Obtain, Install, Set Up, Operate, Troubleshoot, Maintain, or Replace the following equipment Safely and efficiently.
a. Distribution Systems, Control Panels and Components, Pump Off Controllers, Grounding & Bonding Systems, Conduit & Raceways, Electric Motors, Hub and Sheaves, & Belts and Breaker Boxes
III. Have a good working knowledge of Production Systems as to their functions and be able to help with optimizing their operation.
a. Rod Pumps, ESP's, H-pumps, Transfer Pumps, Air Compressors, LACT Units, Vapor Recovery Units, Gas Compressors, Tank Batteries, Production Vessels & Testers

IV. Other Responsibilities

a. Basic computer skills
b. Be available for 24hr call
c. Change electric motors, sheaves, & belts
d. Calculate sheave size to achieve desired SPM
e. Able to plan electrical portion and execute for unit swaps
f. Utilize hot stick to change line fuses and reset reclosers
g. Properly size and run conduit and conductors
h. Install, trouble shoot, and repair control panels
i. Splice underground 600 vac cable
j. Maintain surge protective devices
k. Install and maintain grounding systems
l. Install and troubleshoot ESP systems
m. Trouble shoot H-pump and PD pump systems
n. Estimate electrical material and contractor costs for projects

o. Troubleshoot overhead power line systems, locate issues and restore power to field and help with bringing production equipment back online
p. Effectively report power outages to the appropriate power supply company
q. Install & program POC's to optimize pumping system
r. Understand Power Factor and how to correct
s. Working knowledge of voltage regulators and capacitor banks
i. How to put online and take offline
t. Communicate issues to supervisor
u. Keep Company vehicle serviced, clean, and stocked

Qualifications & Experience

Experience and Education

I. Minimum Highschool Diploma or equivalent
II. Knowledge of applicable codes where concerned with oil & gas industry
III. Minimum five years work related experience

Safety
I. Must maintain vigilance regarding health, safety, and environment
II. Adhere to all policies and procedures
III. Knowledge of associated dangers of the industry and how to mitigate them.
