Job title: Senior Server Administrator

Location: Columbia, SC (on-site 3 days a week)

Duration: 03/25/24 - 03/21/25 with potential extension/conversion

Rate: $56/hr


About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Server Administrator to join our FEPDR Support team. This role involves administering and deploying infrastructure, including hardware, software, and configurations to ensure operational availability. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, testing, and remedial maintenance of server devices and systems, ensuring high performance, security, and compliance with audit requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer, deploy, and maintain infrastructure, ensuring operational availability.
  • Perform system upgrades and coordinate transitions from test to production environments.
  • Resolve server issues in collaboration with end users and vendors.
  • Maintain control of server devices, ensuring appropriate access and security.
  • Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Address vulnerabilities within audit-mandated timeframes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for processes and procedures.


Skills and Experience:

  • Required: Strong technical knowledge of servers, communications, hardware, and software. Proficient in server technologies and platforms, with excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service orientation.
  • Preferred Technologies: SAN storage, AIX, Linux, VMWare, and working knowledge of Network troubleshooting.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Alternatively, 4 years of job-related work experience or 2 years of experience plus an associate s degree.
  • Preferred Certifications: Comtia A+, Network+, Security+


Language Requirement:

  • English (Proficient in Reading, Writing, and Speaking)


What You Will Do:

  • Maintain the environment, including hardware EOL and renewals, and DR readiness.
  • Coordinate and troubleshoot during disaster recovery exercises.
  • Work closely with the customer for planning and maintaining DR readiness.

What We Are Not Looking For:

  • Candidates lacking SAN storage or AIX LINUX expertise.

  • Effective communication, flexibility, and adaptability are crucial for successful collaboration and project execution.


Our Team:

  • A small, dedicated team focused on supporting and maintaining FEP systems for contingency and DR purposes. We conduct at least 4 disaster recovery exercises annually, including audited ones, providing a dynamic and critical role in our organization s IT infrastructure.
