Rotating Equipment Engineer


Job Details

The Mechanical Rotating Engineer will provide technical assurance, leadership, and support the EPC Contractor through the FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning phases. Work activities include audit and assurance of EPC's design to Project contractual obligations and specifications through coordination with EPC counterparts and other disciplines. The industry specifications include API, ASME, ANSI, PIP and other process industry codes and standards. Will be responsible for complex rotating equipment packages associated with high drive powers, gas turbine driven, multiple train components and associated auxillary support packages, string tests and issue resolving.


Responsibilities

Ensure equipment is designed and constructed to be safe, to perform the requirements of the process, and to meet the Project specifications

Audit EPC detailed EPC designs for rotating equipment; gas turbines, refrigerant and process compressors, drivers, gearboxes, blowers and pumps and their associated auxiliary support systems

Review equipment inquiry/purchase requisitions & technical bid evaluations supplied by EPC for correctness of selection

Participate in factory acceptance tests and inspections

Review vendor drawings and data, test procedures, reports and calculations in an audit and assurance role

Attend Kick-off, Detailed Design, Model Reviews, Pre-Inspection Meetings

Participate in Process HAZID and HAZOP analysis as needed

Interface with EPC counterparts and other EPC disciplines as part of project task forces

Track project deliverables with little or no supervision

Stay abreast of current mechanical engineering developments thru participation in Industry technical shows and committees

Train other engineers

Performs other duties as assigned.
